Mathematics and Art are very closely related. Due their many similarities I consider them as two complementary ways of visualising aspects of the concrete or abstract reality. Mathematics is not just about formulas and logic, but about patterns, symmetry, structure, shape and beauty.

In my process of composition I use different approaches to achieve patterns and symmetries

The objective of my paintings is to integrate the elements of visual composition into a cohesive whole, whose basis is in many of the visualizations a perfect symmetrical totality.

The understanding of the interaction between these elements is important in order to understand that my artwork is born from logic.

Not all the paintings are self-contained, the constructed geometrical forms reach or extend beyond the canvas, forcing the viewer's attention to s specific direction.

This kind of art has a special resonance for scientists and mathematicians, but being visual, is of interest to general spectator. Its patterns invite mathematical analysis, but is not a requirement. It needs only to be seen in the same way music needs only be heard.

Wiskunde en Kunst zijn zeer gerelateerd. Door zijn vele vergelijkingen beschouw ik ze als twee complementaire vormen om de concrete of abstracte werkelijkheid te visualiseren. Wiskunde gaat niet alleen over formules en logica maar over patronen, symmetrieën, structuren, vormen en schoonheid…

In mijn compositieproces gebruik ik verschillende benaderingen om patronen en symmetrieën te bereiken.

Het objectief van mijn schilderijen is de elementen van de visuele compositie in een samenhangende totaliteit te integreren met als uitgangspunt een perfecte symmetrie te bereiken.

Het waarneming van de interactie tussen deze elementen is van belang om te begrijpen dat mijn kunst geboren is uit logica.

De geometrische vormen reiken buiten het schilderij en dwingen de toeschouwer in een bepaalde richting.

Dit soort kunst heeft een bijzondere aandacht van wetenschappers en wiskundigen maar omdat het visueel is, is het ook toegankelijk voor een algemeen publiek. De patronen nodigen uit tot wiskundige analyses maar het is geen noodzaak. Het is alleen om bekeken te worden op de zelfde manier als muziek alleen gehoord moet worden.

Matemáticas y Arte tienen una relación muy directa. Debido a sus muchas similitudes las considero como dos caminos complementarios para visualizar aspectos de la realidad concreta o abstracta. Matematicas no son solamente fórmulas sino que también patrones, estructuras, simetrías, formas y belleza...

Durante mi proceso de composición utilizo también distintas formas de enfoque buscando obtener patrones y simetrías.

El objetivo de mis pinturas es integrar los elementos de composición visual en una forma cohesiva, cuya base, en muchas ocasiones, es en su totalidad una perfecta simetría.

Comprender la interaacción entre estos elementos es importante en orden de comprender que mi trabajo artístico nace de la lógica.

No todas las obras son auto-contenidas, las construcciones geométricas se extienden más allá del lienzo, forzando la atención del espectador hacia una dirección específica.

Este tipo de arte tiene una resonancia especial para cientificos y matemáticos, pero siendo un arte visual sigue siendo de interés para un público general. Sus patrones invita a análisis matemáticos pero no es un requerimento. Necesita sólo ser visto, de la misma manera que la música no necesita más que ser oida.
